And it is so true for us!
When we first started using doTERRA’s essential oils 11 years ago, it was mainly for physical purposes. We were looking for ways to support our family’s health goals from home and doTERRA has never disappointed!
I have to say though, that as the years have progressed, we use the oils for more emotional uses than physical.
What else is there on this planet that you can pick a specific use for and find comfort in?
Well, there is one - the Bible. Whether in my rejoicing or my anguish, I turn to scripture and meditate on God’s goodness. The oils help us chemically, physically to move out of unwanted emotions unlike any other substance on this planet, and the Bible changes our hearts, minds, and spirit. God’s Word is powerful.
I believe we can use both together to bring us closer to God and find our own healing.
God put plants on this earth for us to use. Many of them have powerful benefits.
It’s not at all complicated - we can evaluate how we are feeling, choose the oil and verse recommended and take 5 minutes out of our day to connect inward and upward.
I like to start with putting a drop of the oil in my hand, rubbing my hands together, cup over my nose and mouth, and take three deep inhalations. Then, read the scripture paired with the oil. I will then breathe the oil in again as I think about the verse. I will do this over and over in order to understand and meditate on the verse, as well as let the oils do their work.
I also like to apply the oil behind my ears and over my heart. Just make sure that you are not putting citrus oils on any body area that will be exposed to the sun, as it can make you photosensitive (we don’t want sunburns).
This is also a great tool to use with our kids! We believe in teaching our children how to be their own advocates and arm them with tools to help themselves. We can teach them to arm themselves with the armor of God, plus teach them how to use essential oils!
